The Bermuda Triangle, or Devil’s Triangle, is the name assigned to an area which has been at the center of many unexplained disappearances. The Bermuda Triangle lies between Bermuda, Miami and San Juan, Puerto Rico. Inside this area of water, countless planes and ships have mysteriously disappeared. The poser of the Bermuda Triangle commenced in 1950. A little article appeared outlining the bizarre disappearances of ships and planes. The area was given the name The Devil’s Sea. In a feature in 1964, Vincent Gaddis christened the area the Bermuda Triangle.
One of the most famed disappearances happened in 1945. Flight nineteen was a squadron of 5 naval bombers. All 5 planes apparently vanished while flying over the Bermuda Triangle. The 2 planes that set out to save Flight nineteen also vanished and were never found.
Naval ships e. G the USS Cyclops and the Sea Sulpher Queen also vanished without a sign. Another disappearance was that of Donald Crowhurst, who was attempting an around the planet excursion. An enormous ship carrying ore also mysteriously disappeared after only 3 days at sea. An official statement by the US Coastguard states that repeated search attempts were made, but no traces were ever found of the missing planes or ships.
